Who Is She?

As a rising junior, who has changed her major a few times, there’s a lot I could say about myself. I enjoy playing Minecraft, journaling, listening to music, shopping, crocheting, and binge-watching true-crime videos on YouTube. For the past two years, my life has revolved around college, and my many hobbies have allowed me to stay afloat throughout every class I’ve ever cried over.

I would not say that I’m an indecisive person, but college has been a time of uncertainty for me. As a 17-year-old, when I applied to eight colleges, I thought I wanted to be an OB/GYN physician. Now that my 20th birthday is approaching, I’ve acknowledged that although I am unequivocal about what I want to do as a career, I have gained a passion for studying clinical psychology. I admire the attribution theories of Fritz Heider and the founder of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud.

Regarding the Digital Storytelling course, I am eager to showcase my creativity and learn more about my classmates through their blogs. I want to share a few forms of media that are meaningful to me.

Musically, Lana Del Rey is not necessarily my favorite artist, but her music has gotten me through rough times. I have been listening to Lana’s most recent album ‘Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd’ and this album sort of encapsulates how rough the spring semester was for me. ‘The Grants’ is my favorite song from this album.

Another public figure I enjoy supporting is Kendall Rae, a YouTuber who raises awareness about true-crime cases and victim advocacy. Two years ago, Kendall made a video about the Elizabeth Smart case, and this video documentary has resonated with me since then. Elizabeth’s story is inspiring and captivating, and Elizabeth herself symbolizes resilience for me and many others worldwide.

Shifting gears, I recently found a photo of a color-block granny square cardigan I plan on crocheting this fall. I have been crocheting for three years. I mostly make stuffed animals and blankets. However, the cardigan project will challenge me and broaden my scope within the crocheting realm.

I wish everyone a good luck over the next five weeks!
